Expertise

The Microbiology Society, founded in 1945, publishes 6 peer-reviewed journals that span microbiology and virology, with the newest 2 launched within the last 2 years in collaboration with the microbiological community. The Microbiology Society first contacted us on recommendation in July 2013 for temporary support to their in-house editorial staff during a staff transition. Within 6 months our expertise, ability to build excellent and lasting relationships with their Editors, and cost effectiveness caused a change of plan which has resulted in Editorial Office playing a key role in the peer review process on 5 of their journals. We were also able to assist in the transition of the journals to a new submission system, helping to ensure a smooth process for all Editors, Reviewers and Authors..

Resource

eLife is an open access journal in biomedical and life sciences established in 2012 with an aim to provide authors with a clear and consolidated decision within a month. By October 2013, their success was starting to exceed their capacity so they turned to us to provide the additional resources required to continue growing. Working in different stages of the editorial and production process, our proven ability to increase hours on demand and learn new tasks quickly and accurately enables us to provide much needed support to the eLife team. By tailoring our working hours to suit their needs, we are a close and effective partner in sustaining eLife's rapid growth and in the delivery of their philosophy of fast manuscript turnaround.

Efficiency

The Royal Society of Chemistry is a not-for-profit publisher, with 40 peer-reviewed journals and a mission to advance excellence in the chemical sciences. The Royal Society of Chemistry contacted us in early 2014, seeking an external partner to work with them on two of their growing journals. With fast times to publication a key point of both journals they needed a partner who would provide them with an exceptional combination of speed and accuracy, plus the flexibility in resources to accomplish all tasks on a daily basis regardless of volume. The success of our partnership resulted in them placing a third, larger journal with us in early 2015 and we continue to further develop our skills to meet the demands of these high profile journals.
