The Royal College of Radiologists
“... their experience, brilliant customer service, attention to detail and willingness to provide outstanding support makes working with them easy and enjoyable.”
- Holly Benson, Manager, Publications and Website, Royal College of Radiologists
By working with The Royal College of Radiologists and managing their peer review process, we have helped them reduce their time between submission and decision, benefiting the College, the journals, and their authors.
Our practical, day-to-day support also allows time for more strategic focus.
Experiencing huge benefits
We have worked on the Clinical Radiology journal and with The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) since 2004. Back then, much of the process was still hardcopy – there were lots of filing cabinets to go through (!) but it was wonderful to support the team with moving all steps of the peer review process online.
Editorial Office help with both RCR journals providing support for the peer review process. They have found that our help directly reduces their time from submission to decision, which is a huge benefit, as it is something authors really value.
We also support their journal board and strategy meetings – preparing agendas, organising attendance and writing up minutes.
Manager, Holly Benson, defined us as proactive, stating, “they suggest improvements to our processes and I know the editor teams find their support and experience invaluable.”
Working together for so long, means RCR have built relationships with many of our permanent and freelancer team, including Tracy Ronan and Nicky Cotterill. Holly describes the whole team as “brilliant with a can-do attitude” and “always open to trying out new suggestions”.
We enjoy working with The Royal College of Radiologists and work closely to assist them with any additional tasks.

Feeling in safe hands.
Working with Editorial Office has given The Royal College of Radiologists a sense of reassurance, knowing the journals are in safe hands. We manage the day-to-day support for peer review and the team knows that we will bring any issues or queries to the attention of the management team should we need to.
Knowing that the practical side of the journal peer review processes are taken care of leaves Holly and other members of the board and journal team time to focus on the strategic side of the journals.
